Arriving at Hanoi’s Noi Bai Airport, your driver will take you to your hotel for check-in, with time to settle and relax before a performance of traditional water puppetry and a welcome Dinner.

Today you’ll have a thorough exploration of Vietnam’s capital city, visiting its iconic historic landmarks and imbibing the ambience of influences in its architecture, people and culture. A visit to the Ethnology Museum will provide a useful insight into the ethnic diversity of its mountain peoples in anticipation of your visit to Sapa, your sojourn there commencing in the late evening, when you’ll board the overnight sleeper train to Lao Cai.

Arriving in the early morning, you be driven through the peaceful mountain scenery to the highland town of Sapa for check-in to your hotel. After breakfast, you’ll be driven through the hilly landscapes resplendent with its characteristic carved rice paddies to visit some of the different ethnic villages.

Today you’ll visit a market at which the colourful ethnic groups of the surrounding valleys gather, each arrayed in their various distinctive traditional costumes, to trade their wares, socialise and exchange news. Late In the evening, you’ll board the overnight sleeper back to Hanoi.

Arriving in the morning, you’ll have time to freshen up and enjoy breakfast before you head to the coast to board your cruise of spectacular Ha Long Bay, visiting the grottos and caves of this vast and fascinating seascape, spending the night on board afloat in the bay.

Your scenic cruise of continues as you navigate back toward the mainland, docking around noon, returning to Hanoi and your hotel.

Your time will be free until your transfer to the airport for your onward or departure flight.
