Central Vietnam 8 Days

View attached tour

Day 1:
Arriving at Phu Bai airport in Hue, your driver will be waiting to take you to your hotel, with time to settle in and relax before your welcome dinner.

Day 2:
In the morning, a cruise along the Perfume River, will find you at waterside Thien Mu Pagoda. Later you’ll visit the royal tomb of former Emperor Minh Mang, the second of the Nguyen rulers who establish Hue as their capital. In the afternoon you’ll explore the Imperial citadel, in the heart of Hue, and once the seat of power of the enigmatic nine emperors.

Day 3:
A pleasant and relaxing morning cycle ride around Hue’s surrounding villages and countryside unveils the rural charm of Hue, via the little ornate Thanh Hoan Bridge and the lovely Garden House of Princess Ngoc Son. After a free afternoon in Hue, you’ll visit another of the famous Hue garden houses for an evening dinner in its pleasant ambience.

Day 4:
Today, you’ll travel into the more recent past through the ‘DMZ’, visiting Khe Sanh US Combat Base and Hien Luong Bridge at Ben Hai River, the scenes of battle during the height of Vietnam War. You will also be able to investigate the Vinh Moc Tunnels, more authentically preserved than those of the better known underground war sites at Cu Chi.

Day 5:
The coastal beach views over Hai Van Pass lead you down through Danang, with a visit to its interesting Cham Museum, before journeying on to the pretty cultural gem of Hoi An and check-in to your hotel. After lunch, you’ll have a guided tour of this remarkable USESCO World Heritage town, a picturesque centuries-old trading port.

Day 6:
Close to Hoi An, the ruins of My Son, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, are the focus of a trip even further back in time to the profound pre-Vietnamese Cham civilisation, sharing its cultural origins with the civilisation at Angkor. The remainder of the day will be free in Hoi An.

Day 7:
A day at leisure in Hoi An.

Day 8:
Your time will be free until your driver picks you up for your transfer to Danang Airport for your flight to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City and your onward travel or departure.
