Group Cycling tour (14 days) Commencing March 3, 2020

Day 1: (Tuesday, March 3) Arriving at Noi Bai airport in Hanoi, you’ll be met and driven to your hotel. You’ll have time to relax after your journey before a welcome dinner at a restaurant in a restored French colonial building. You’ll spend the night in Hanoi.

Day 2: (Wednesday, March 4) Today you’ll explore Vietnam’s capital city, visiting some of its most iconic landmarks including the Temple of Literature, Tran Quoc Pagoda and the Old Quarter. In the evening, you’ll board the overnight sleeper train to Hue.

Day 3: (Thursday, March 5) After breakfasting in Hue and checking into your hotel, you’ll have a 35km ride to visit Dong Ba Market and several of the famous unique garden houses and the Imperial Citadel. An evening dinner at a Garden House restaurant will introduce you to Hue’s distinctive cuisine.

Day 4: (Friday, March 6) Today’s ride will cover around 35km along the Perfume River, visiting the Royal Tombs of Emperors Minh Mang and Khai Dinh, Thuy Bieu craft village and Hue’s Tiger Arena.

Day 5: (Saturday, March 7) Today, you’ll have a more ambitious 81km cycle ride, passing through rural villages and taking in the lovely Thanh Toan Bridge and Tam Giang Lagoon. You’ll have a lunch break at Lang Co, before ascending the Hai Van Pass mountain road to enjoy its breathtaking views. After your exertions, you’ll be driven to historic and charming Hoi An and your hotel.

Day 6: (Sunday, March 8) A gentler 48km ride will take you beyond Hoi An to visit the Angkor Era Cham ruins of My Son. During your ride, you’ll visit a local family to try your hand at making rice paper and enjoy a locally sourced lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll be driven back to Hoi An, with the rest of the day free.

Day 7: (Monday, March 9) Today, you’ll cycle for 70km along the rural coastal route southwards with lunch at Tam Thanh Beach. Continuing on your route you’ll take a ferry to cycle around Tam Hai Island. After your ride, you’ll be transferred to Quang Ngai and your hotel, with a stop off at the site of the infamous and history-defining My Lai massacre.

Day 8: (Tuesday, March 10) Today you’ll be driven to start your 70 km cycle along the coast, passing through Binh Duong, Tung Giang and Tuy Phuoc, enjoying local life in this little visited area. After your ride, you’ll be driven to Quy Nhon.

Day 9: (Wednesday, March 11) Another 70 km cycle ride will take you ever further southward along the coastal fringe. Passing through Tuy Hoa and across the Da Rang River, through villages resplendent with flower and vegetable gardens. The route turns hilly, but rewards with fine views as you complete your ride in Vung Ro, a secret port used during the war as part of the famous Ho Chi Minh Trail network. After lunch and a swim at Dai Lanh Beach, you’ll be transferred to Nha Trang.

Day 10: (Thursday, March 12) After being driven beyond the city, you’ll begin your last and occasionally hilly 60 km cycling day, travelling further southward, stopping at the halfway point for lunch in Vinh Hai Bay. After completing your ride, you’ll be transferred to Mui Ne.

Day 11: (Friday, March 13) Today you’ll have a free day in Mui Ne to spend as you choose and recover from your exertions.

Day 12: (Saturday, March 14) Another day to spend as you please in Mui Ne.

Day 13: (Sunday, March 15) After breakfast, your time will be free until your tour guide picks you up for the drive to Ho Chi Minh City and your hotel.

Day 14: (Monday, March 16) Today, you’ll have a guided exploration of Vietnam’s busiest city, taking in the Museum of War Remnants, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Jade Emperor Temple and Ben Thanh market. After your city tour, you'll have some time to relax before being transferred to the airport for your departing flight.
