Because of its pivotal position as the major airport hub in Southeast Asia, together with its inspired infrastructure, Singapore is a great place to spend at least some of your honeymoon.

The most famous of Singapore’s many very fine hotels is the Raffles, a global icon of the British colonial era, and which has, from 1887, welcomed the most famous personalities of every subsequent decade, from Royalty and Presidents to the most revered of leading cultural luminaries, many of whom have exclusive suites named after them.

Wherever you choose to stay, there are no shortage of high-class venues, nightclubs, restaurants and awesome visitor attractions to enjoy the best of this wonderful island nation.

If you have expensive tastes, Singapore will not disappoint, and the designer shops of Orchard Street are a temptation to any wallet. If you fancy an exclusive round of golf, the Sentosa Golf Club has two fabulous championship courses, the most prestigious of several classy golf courses in Singapore.

If you love the living things with which we share our planet, Singapore Rainforest Zoo, is no ordinary affair, with a total antipathy to the regular cage styles, which depressingly characterise many other zoos.

By contrast, and with absolutely no expense spared, the four entirely separate vast sites of the zoo, Night Safari, Jurong Bird Park and River Safari set admirably new standards for captive animals, and feature a series of highly creative themed natural environments within which the creatures live.

The zoo is also highly involved with global conservation and education and provides a wonderful array of experiences for both adults and children.

However wealthy you may be, some of the best things in life are indeed free and a wander around Singapore Botanic Gardens is a delight.
