Historic Tibet and Mount Everest 8 Days

TOUR PROGRAMME

Day 1:
Arriving at Lhasa Airport, you’ll be met and driven to your hotel.
Day 2:
Today, you’ll visit the important early buildings of Lhasa, including Norbulingka Palace, formerly the summer palace of the Dalai Lama, Sera Monastery and Drepung Monastery.
Day 3:
Today, you’ll visit the iconic and vast Potala Palace, former winter residence of the Dalai Lama, and Tibet’s most famous building. You’ll also explore the Pilgrims Circuit of Barkhor Street around Jokhang Temple.
Day 4:
Today you’ll be driven to Shigatse and your next hotel. Along the way, you’ll visit the Pelkhor Choede Monastery, famed for its sculpture and murals, and Lake Yomdrok, an important water bird haven and home to the world’s highest power station.
Day 5:
In the morning, you’ll visit the historic Tashilumpo Monastery, built in 1447 by the fist Dalai Lama. Later, you’ll be driven to Dingri and your next overnight stop.
Day 6:
Today, you’ll have a challenging high altitude trek to the legendary Rongbuk Monastery at 5,100 metres (16,732 feet) and onward to Everest Base Camp at 5,200 metres (17,060 feet) to view the world’s highest mountain.
Day 7:
Today, you’ll return to Lhasa and your hotel.
Day 8:
Your time will be free until you are taken to the airport for your onward or departure flight.
