TOUR PROGRAMME

Day 1:
Arrival at Beijing Airport: chauffeured transfer to your hotel in one of the city’s ancient hutong neighbourhoods.
Day 2:
Stroll Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, ride a rickshaw through a hutong and learn the art and meaning of Chinese silk yarn knots.

Day 3:
Visit the Great Wall of China, then sit back for a Liangzi massage and wind down your day at a restaurant specializing in authentic Sichuan style hot pot.

Day 4:
Wander the vast gardens around the Summer Palace and enjoy the large lake, and tour the Temple of Heaven.
Day 5:
Fly to Xi'an, visit the towering Big Wild Goose Pagoda and explore the Xi'an city wall where you can bicycle the full 14km around the city centre (tandem bicycles are available).

Day 6:
Visit the archaeological site of the world-famous Terracotta Warriors, and later in the day try your hand at making traditional dumplings to enjoy with your evening meal.

Day 7:
Visit a beautiful ancient home and tour Xi'an’s Muslim Quarter before catching your flight to Chongqing, where you will spend the night.

Day 8:
Meet a national icon in the Panda Room at Chongqing Zoo, tour Ciqikou Old Town, and board your Yangtze River cruise vessel to cast off for the Three Gorges.

Day 9:
Take a shore excursion to view the stunning pavilion at Shibaozhai and pause to visit Fengdu Ghost City, then back on board, enjoy the Captain’s Welcome Banquet.

Day 10:
Today pass through Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge, and enjoy picturesque excursions to Shennong Stream and the ancient town known as White Emperor City.

Day 11:
Before your final disembarkation tour the massive engineering marvel the Three Gorges Dam, then transfer to the airport for your flight to Shanghai.

Day 12:
Visit Shanghai Old City and Yuyuan Garden, walk the riverfront promenade known as the Bund, and drop by Jade Buddha Temple.

Day 13:
Enjoy a free day in Shanghai; get in some shopping, explore more of the Bund and the nearby trendy neighbourhoods and coffee shops, and consider an evening river cruise.

Day 14:
Free time until your guide arrives to transfer you to Shanghai Airport for your departing flight.
