Western Bhutan in Spring 7 Days

TOUR PROGRAMME

Day 1:
Arriving at Paro airport, you’ll be driven to your hotel, with time to relax before visiting the 7th century Kyichu Monastery and the ruins of Drugyel Dzong.
Day 2:
In the morning, you’ll visit the National Museum and Paro Ringpung Dzong. After lunch you’ll travel to Thimpu, and your next hotel.
Day 3:
Today, you’ll have a sightseeing tour of the country’s capital city, including visits to the Scholl of Arts and Crafts, the Folk Heritage Museum, the Memorial Chorten and the mini zoo, to see the Takins, Bhutan’s national animal.
Day 4:
This morning, you’ll travel over the Dochula Pass where, if the weather is fime, you’ll be able to enjoy fine views of the Bhutanese Himalaya, before descending to Punakha and your hotel. In the afternoon, you’ll visit punakha Dzong and a local farmhouse for a flavour of traditional life.
Day 5:
Today, you’ll drive through the countryside back to Paro, with a stop for an hour’s walk to Chime Lhakhang temple.
Day 6:
Today a five hour hike will take in Bhutan’s most famous landmark. The ‘Tiger’s Nest’ of Taktsung Monastery, perched upon a cliff face high above the valley.
Day 7:
In the morning, you’ll be driven to the airport for your onward connection or departure flight.
