Today’s tour begins by visiting Sacred
Monkey Forest, representing a sacred Balinese Hindu site. Next, visit Pura
Tirta Empul, the site of holy springs believed to have magical powers where
many Balinese come to bathe for healing and spiritual purposes. Follow winding
roads up to Kintamani, a spectacular area recognized as a UNESCO Global
Geopark. Here the ‘small’ volcano Mount Batur sits adjacent to the
crescent-shaped Lake Batur within a caldera wall, all of which are surrounded
by another larger crater rim. Later, visit Gunung Kawi, an ancient monument
with shrines excavated directly from a rock face, believed to have been
memorials to members of the Balinese royal family. Finally, stop by Tegallalang
Village to view rice terraces before reaching your southern Bali hotel,
Discovery Kartika Plaza.
