Day 1:
Arriving at Noi Bai airport in Hanoi, you’ll be met and driven to your hotel, with time to settle in and relax before an evening welcome dinner and a traditional performance of water puppetry.
Day 2:
A guided tour of Vietnam’s capital will explore the city’s cultural and historic highlights. In the evening, you’ll be driven to the railway station for the overnight sleeper train to Lao Cai.
Day 3:
Arriving at Lao Cai, you’ll be met for a jeep ride to visit a remote ethnic market and Lung Phin village, before travelling on to Bac Ha for your overnight stay.
Day 4:
After a morning visit to another of the areas interesting colourful ethnic markets, you’ll journey up to through the scenic valleys to the town of Sapa, close to Mount Fansipan, Vietnam’s highest peak and check-in to your hotel.
Day 5:
In the morning an easy walk to visit an h’mong ethnic village in the scenic surroundings is followed by a streamside picnic, with the afternoon free in preparation for your climb.
Day 6:
Our support team will trek with you along the valley to the Black H’mong village of Sin Chai, before ascending up the foothills with a break for a forest lunch prepared by our cook. Continuing ever upward, we will reach our base camp at 2,500 metres, where your tent will be have been pitched in readiness for your arrival and our cook prepares our starlit dinner.
Day 7:
After an early breakfast, we leave base camp and continue climbing, hoping to reach the summit at 3,143 metres (10,312 feet) at around noon and enjoy the views over China and Laos during lunch. The return to base camp should take around four hours after which we will have a celebratory feast.
Day 8:
After breakfast, we will continue our descent into the forest, with a stop for lunch, before arriving back at Sapa by early afternoon and returning to your hotel.
Day 9:
Your day will be free in Sapa to recover from your exertions in your own style until the evening drive back to Lao Cai for the overnight sleeper train to Hanoi.
Day 10:
Arriving in Hanoi in the early morning, you’ll be met and driven to your hotel for freshening up and relaxing, before your driver takes you to the airport for your onward or departure flight.
