Arriving at Vientaine airport, you’ll be met and driven to your hotel, with time to settle in before a short guided stroll of the city centre and Mekong waterfront, followed by your welcome dinner.

A morning tour of Vientaine will explore the city’s historic and culturally important landmarks. In the afternoon you’ll travel northward through the countryside to scenic Vang Vieng, the adventure playground of Laos, and check-in to your hotel.

This morning you’ll take the short drive to Vieng Samay for some Kayak instruction, before tumbling down some small rapids and paddling through the awesome Tham Nam Thaem cave, all the way through to the other side of the mountain. After a hike and picnic lunch, you’ll paddle to Tham Non Cave, among Vang Vieng’s largest, for an exploration of its caverns. After a further gentle kayak, you’ll return to Vang Vieng in time for sunset.

After breakfast, a scenic 32km mountain bike ride will include a steep hike to explore the stalagmites, stalactites and underground lakes of Tham Poukham Cave. Back on your bike, which on occasion you may have to carry, you’ll travel through the rough terrain as you head back down to Vang Vieng.

In the morning, the return drive back to Vientaine will stop at Nam Ngum Lake, where you’ll board a longtail boat to visit the fishing villages on the lake’s small islets, and a visit to the Village of Ban Keun, famed for its Lao Whiskey.

Your time will be free in Vientaine until your driver takes you to the airport for your onward or departure flight.
