Vietnam Bird Watching Tour 14 Days

Day 1:
Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City: guide and chauffeured transfer to hotel, welcome dinner and overnight in the city.

Day 2:
Drive into Mekong Delta, Rung Tram Forest, eucalyptus forest boat cruise to view water birds in Tam Nong National Park and Wetland Reserve, and overnight in Tam Nong.

Day 3:
Early start for bird watching boat tour in Tam Nong (Jan-May home of migratory Red-headed Cranes), and drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 4:
Drive to Nam Cat Tien National Park (home to many endangered species), view Ben Ngu area forest and river rapids, dinner in park centre and overnight in guesthouse.

Day 5:
Rainforest hike 3km to Crocodile Lake for wildlife viewing, second short hike to giant Ficus Tree, one-hour ‘Night Safari’ tour, and overnight in park guesthouse.

Day 6:
Early cruise down Dong Nai River to village of S’Tieng and Chau Ma ethnic minorities, lunch at Nam Cat Tien centre, and drive to Dalat for overnight.

Day 7:
Morning in Ta Nung Valley’s prime bird habitat, and afternoon free in Dalat.

Day 8:
Essential Dalat birding destinations: Mount Lang Bian and Tuyen Lam Lake.

Day 9:
Chauffeured transfer to airport for flight to Hanoi, hotel check-in, traditional Water Puppetry performance, and overnight in Hanoi.

Day 10:
Drive to Van Long Nature Reserve, sampan ride to view endangered Delacour’s Langur and waterfowl habitat, continue to Cuc Phuong Forest National Park for Primate Rescue Centre and Botanical Garden, and overnight in park guesthouse.

Day 11:
Take in Cuc Phuong’s primary rainforest habitat and its native species from various established trails, overnight stay in park guesthouse.

Day 12:
Drive to Tam Dao National Park, afternoon exploring mountain trails, and overnight in Tam Dao Town.

Day 13:
Choose your trail above Tam Dao, mid-afternoon return to Hanoi for overnight.

Day 14:
Free time in Hanoi until chauffeured transfer to airport for departure flight.
