TOUR PROGRAMME

Day 1:
Arriving at Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi, you’ll be met and driven to your hotel, with time to settle in before a performance of traditional water puppetry and your welcome dinner.
Day 2:
This morning, you’ll be driven to the International Friendship Village to meet and discuss with Vietnamese veterans and victims of Agent Orange and explore their daily handicraft work. In the afternoon, a visit to the History Museum and Vietnam Military History Museum will enhance your understanding of the Vietnamese perspective of the conflict.
Day 3:
In the morning, you’ll visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and the stilt house where he lived. Later a visit to the Women’s Museum, which features the story of the many hundreds of thousands of women who fought in the conflict. Your afternoon will be free.
Day 4:
This morning, you’ll catch the flight to Pleiku in central Vietnam, where you’ll be met and driven to Kontum and your hotel. After lunch you’ll visit the seminary and wooden church, visit the town’s orphanage, and meet members of the local Bahnar ethnic group.
Day 5:
In the morning, you’ll follow the route of the ‘Ho Chi Minh Trail’, visiting the wartime destinations of Phuong Hoang Airfield, formerly used by the American military and scene of a major battle, nearby Charlie Hill, PleiCan Base, DakSeang Airfield, and DakPak. After lunch, you’ll be driven to your next hotel in Kham Duc, with stops at GieTieng ethnic village and DakChe waterfall.
Day 6:
Today, you’ll travel to your next overnight stop at Quang Ngai, with a sightseeing visit to the ancient Champa Kingdom towers at Chien Dang.
Day 7:
Today, you’ll visit My Lai Village, scene of the infamous 1968 massacre, and its museum. The nearby beach, will also offer an opportunity for a relaxing swim.
Day 8:
Today, you’ll be driven to the charming UNESCO World Heritage town of Hoi An and check in to your hotel. In the afternoon, you’ll have a guided tour of the heritage area.
Day 9:
Today, you’ll visit the ancient Champa ruins at the UNESCO World Heritage site at My Son, before heading out to the former Imperial city of Hue, where you’ll spend the night.
Day 10:
This morning, you’ll be driven to Quang Tri province to visit the wartime De-Militarised Zone, commonly known as the DMZ. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the battle sites of Mieu Base, Hien Luong Bridge and Ben Hai River, before a visit to the Vinh Moc Tunnels. You’ll spend the night in the town of Dong Ha.
Day 11:
Today you’ll visit the battle site of the former Con Tien Firebase, Truong Son National Cemetery, Camp Caroll, the ‘Rock Pile’, Dakrong Bridge, Khe Sanh Combat Base, Lang and Vay Special Forces Camp. In the evening you’ll return to the city of Hue.
Day 12:
Today, a riverboat will take you along the Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda, the mausoleums of Emperors Minh Mang and Khai Dinh, and one of Hue’s famous Garden Houses. In the evening you’ll dine in the unique ambience of another of Hue’s historic Garden Houses.
Day 13:
Your time will be free until your afternoon flight to Noi Bai airport in Hanoi for your onward or departure connection.
