On arrival, you’ll be met and driven to your hotel in Luang Prabang, with the remainder of the day free at leisure.
Day 2:
Today you’ll travel through rural landscapes of rice terraces and pineapple fields to Ban Longlao, a H'mong village, absorbing the culture, customs and language so different to mainstream Laos. From here you’ll begin your trek (2-3 hours) through the forest to see the beautiful Kuang Si Waterfall where you can enjoy lunch and swim and clamber the falls. You’ll return to Luang Prabang to take part in a Baci ceremony and enjoy folk dances, and joining in the Laotian social "Lamvong" dance with local people.
Day 3:
After breakfast, you’ll be driven to Ban Done Nguen for a cruise down on Nam Ou River through beautiful mountain scenery, joining the Mekong River at Pak Ou Caves, to visit these two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. Venturing further downriver, you’ll return to Luang Prabang.
Day 4:
An optional early start today gives you the opportunity to witness the world famous daily alms procession ritual. Following breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the pier for a short private cruise to the ancient Royal temple of Wat Long Khoun, formerly used by Kings and Queens for meditation.  We will then have a leisurely cycle to the village of Xienmene, visiting a local school before cycling on to the beautiful Hoy Khua Waterfall.  Cycling on, we’ll come to the riverside village of Ban Pak Leuang and re-board our boat, enjoying a picnic lunch while following the Mekong upstream to the village of Ban Chan, famous for its pottery making, and learn about local life. Afterwards, our boat will return us to Luang Prabang by late afternoon.
Day 5:
Today is all about elephants. In the morning you’ll be driven to Luang Prabang’s Mandalao Conservation centre to meet the elephants and join in their morning bath. Later you’ll have a walk through the jungle along Huay Nok stream, enjoying lunch, before continuing on to Tad Kuang Song waterfall and the Khmu village of Ban Hua Tad. Later, you’ll be able to learn how the Mahouts communicate with the elephants, and accompany the herd to their night-time resting area. You’ll be returned to your hotel by late afternoon.

Your time will be free until your car arrives to take you to the airport for your flight to Siem Reap, where you’ll be met and driven to your hotel.
Day 7:
An early start will take you to watch the sunrise over Angkor Wat, followed by a traditional breakfast at a local stall. The rest of the day will be devoted to the Temple complex, exploring Angkor Wat itself, followed by a visit to Angkor Thom, including the Bayon, Elephant and Leper King Terraces and Baphuon Temple, before continuing on to the famous and iconic Ta Prohm.
Day 8:
Today, we journey northeast from Siem Reap to Beng Mealea Temple, similar in scale to Angkor Wat but which remains utterly swallowed by the jungle. A clamber about this titanic temple will give a sense of the 1000 year abandonment that encountered the explorers who re-discovered the Angkor Empire. Later, we continue on to the ancient city of Koh Ker, visiting its treasures, such as the pyramid temple of Prasat Thom, the beautiful Prasat Krahom, covered by jungle, and some of the smaller structures such as Prasat Neang Khmau before returning to Siem Reap in the late afternoon.
