Vietnam Heritage Overture 9 Days

TOUR PROGRAMME

Day 1:
Arriving at Noi Bai airport in Hanoi, you’ll be met and driven to your hotel, with time to settle in before a performance of traditional water puppetry and your welcome dinner.

Day 2:
In the morning, you’ll visit the Ethnology and Fine Art Museums for an overview of the cultural and creative nuances which continue to shape Vietnam. After lunch, you can attune your ears to the sonic history of the country, with a demonstration of Vietnam’s rare and unique musical instruments, before a tour of Hanoi’s Old Quarter.

Day 3:
This morning, you’ll travel to the coast to board a traditional style junk for your cruise of unforgettable Ha Long Bay and its natural marvels, staying on board in the bay overnight.

Day 4:
Your cruise continues through the UNESCO World Heritage seascape until landfall around noon, and return to your Hanoi hotel.

Day 5:
Your time will be free until we pick you up for your noon flight to Hue, where you’ll be met and driven to your hotel, with visits to the Imperial Citadel, Antiquity Museum and Dong Ba Market.

Day 6:
In the morning, a riverboat will take you along the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda. After lunch, you’ll visit the mausoleum of the ‘poet’ Emperor, Tu Duc, and one of Hue’s famous Garden Houses. In the evening you’ll dine in the unique ambience of another of Hue’s historic Garden Houses.

Day 7:
Leaving Hue, you’ll follow the view from Hai Van Pass down to Danang and its Cham Museum before travelling on to Hoi An. After lunch, you’ll have a guided tour of the historic world heritage town.

Day 8:
After breakfast in your Hoi An hotel, You’ll travel up the valley to the ruins of the former Cham capital at My Son, one of the once mighty Hindu kingdoms that dominated south east Asia during much of its early history. Returning to Hoi An, you’ll have the afternoon free at leisure.

Day 9:
Your time will be free until we pick you up for the airport for your onward or departure flight.
