Vietnam Homestay Hospitality 12 Days

TOUR PROGRAMME

Day 1:
Arriving at Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi, you’ll be met and driven to the lovely Moon Garden Homestay in Ky Son Village. After relaxing with a local tisane, you can taste some of the local produce before a fragrant herbal steam bath.
Day 2:
In the morning, you’ll join in the traditional Yijining traditional exercises before breakfast. In the morning, you’ll have a guided cycle ride around the local pathways, visiting Duong Lam Ancient village, meeting local people and, if you wish, joining in their daily tasks. In the afternoon, you’ll have the opportunity to GO fishing, or simple wander around Ky Son Village, imbibing the local way of life.
Day 3:
This morning, you can join in the Buddist prayers before breakfast. Later, you’ll travel into central Hanoi to visit the ethnology museum, Tran Quoc Pagoda and investigate the charming Old Quarter. In the evening, you’ll be taken to the railway station to board the overnight sleeper train to Lao Cai.
Day 4:
Arriving in the early morning, you’ll be met and driven through the mountains and sculptured rice fields to the upland town of Sapa, close to Mount Fansipan, Vietnam’s highest peak, an area which is home to the traditional highland lifestyles of many of the country’s colourful ethnic minorities. Upon arrival, you’ll have breakfast before a hike along the valley, visiting a H’mong ethnic minority village, before a streamside picnic lunch. You’ll continue your hike to a Day minority ethnic village, where you’ll stay the night with a local family.
Day 5:
In the morning, you’ll be driven to Bac Ha, where you’ll climb up the mountainside for a scenic picnic overlooking the rice paddies in the valley below. Later, you’ll continue your walk to Nam Det village to meet the Black Dao people before arriving at the Dao ethnic minority Nam Khanh homestay.
Day 6:
Today, you’ll continue you hike along the valley and up the mountainside to visit a village of Mong and Tay peoples. Arriving back at Bac Ha in the afternoon, you’ll be driven to Lao Cai for the return overnight sleeper train to Hanoi.
Day 7:
Arriving early in the morning, you’ll be taken to a mini hotel to freshen up and have breakfast before being taken to the airport for your flight to Da Nang, where you’ll be met and driven to the UNESCO World Heritage town of Hoi An and the pleasant setting of Betel Garden Homestay.
Day 8:
In the morning, you’ll have a cycle of the narrow countryside roads, observing scenes of rural life along the way. You’ll then board a boat into Thu Bon Estuary and along the shore to join the local fishermen aboard a traditional coracle. After cycling back to Hoi An, you’ll have a free afternoon at leisure.
Day 9:
In the morning, you’ll catch the flight to Ho Chi Minh City, where, you’ll be met and driven to Vinh long in the Mekong Delta and your family homestay.
Day 10:
In the morning, you’ll get on the water to visit the colourful Cai Be floating market, before travelling on to visit some of the local handicraft villages. Later you’ll have a boat journey through the maze of Mekong Channels, visiting an orchard and enjoying some traditional music before returning to your homestay.
Day 11:
This morning, you’ll have a short cruise of the Mekong River, visiting the pottery kilns. Later you’ll visit Vinh Long Market, before having a cycle of the country paths among the local farms, and joining in with the locals at work if you wish. In the afternoon, you’ll return to Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 12:
Today, you’ll be taken to the airport for your onward or departure flight.
