Today you’ll visit the important historical and cultural sights and soak in the city vistas and unique ambience of this ancient oriental capital city.

Day 3:
In the morning, an eastward drive to the coast opens up into Ha Long Bay, one of the Earth’s most spectacular natural features, and a UNESCO World Heritage Area. Boarding your luxury private junk, you’ll sail first to Bai Tu Long and the most deserted areas of the bay, enjoying the stunning scenery and visiting caves and beaches.

Day 4:
Your cruise continues through the magnificent sculptural forms of the bay, visiting a fishing village in a hidden lagoon, perfect for kayaking, and enjoying a barbeque lunch on a wild remote sandy cove.

Day 5:
Your cruise of the dramatic seascape continues, visiting a pearl farm, before heading back to the coast, docking around noon for your journey back to Hanoi, with the remainder of the day at leisure in the capital.

Day 6:
After an early breakfast, you’ll be driven to the airport for the flight to Can Tho in southern Vietnam’s Mekong Delta, where you’ll board your private cruise and travel downriver to Tra On, observing the waterside scenes of daily rural life, with a stop to get ashore and see the villages and cottage industries of the area. Arriving at Vung Liem, you’ll anchor overnight, and enjoy dining and sleeping on the gentle river-flow.

Day 7:
After breakfast, you’ll step ashore for a cycle ride around Vung Liem, visiting a Cao Dai Temple and a local market, before returning to your vessel and enjoying lunch as you cruise to Mo Cay, where you’ll again go ashore for a walk around the village, known for its coconut produce. Continuing along the waterways, your next stop is My Long village and its rice paper making. Evening dinner is served on board as you anchor on the An Hoa River.

Day 8:
In the morning, your river cruise meanders onward to Phong Nam village, where you can enjoy a Xe Loi (motorised rickshaw) ride around the locality and have fun aboard a sampan through the densely foliated Ba Sau canals. Later you’ll cruise to My Tho, where you’ll disembark for your transfer to Ho Chi Minh City and check-in to your hotel.

Day 9:
Today, you’ll have a thorough guided exploration of Vietnam’s southern city, imbued with the tempos of its lively modern soul, within which the romance of old Saigon still flourishes.

Day 10:
Your time will be at your leisure until your driver arrives to take you to the airport for your onward or departure flight.
