TOUR PROGRAMME

Day 1:
Arriving at Tan Son Nat airport in Ho Chi Minh City, you’ll be driven to your hotel for check-in. After some time to relax and settle in a performance of traditional water puppetry awaits, followed by your welcome dinner.

Day 2:
After breakfast, the thrumming city life is left behind as you enter the world of the Mekong Delta, travelling to My Tho, where you’ll board a riverboat to Xep Canal for your first encounter with the local agriculture of the region, visiting fruit gardens, orchards and beekeepers, sampling the produce, enjoying a horse and cart ride and paddling a sampan in the canals. Later you’ll travel to Vinh Long, spending the night with a local family.

Day 3:
A pleasant morning cycle around the fields and villages passing over canals on the makeshift bridges is followed by a boat to see some of the cottage industries thriving along the waterfront. In the afternoon, you’ll travel to Can Tho for your overnight stay.

Day 4:
This morning you’ll get onto the river to visit Cai Rang floating market, a waterborne melee of traders and a fascinating window into the lives of the Mekong people. Your afternoon will be at your leisure in Can Tho.

Day 5:
Travelling back to Ho Chi Minh City, you’ll visit Vinh Trang Pagoda in My Tho, a Buddhist pagoda remarkable for its hybrid architectural style and fine carvings.

Day 6:

Your time will be free until you are taken to the airport for your short flight to Dalat, where you’ll be met and introduced to a local family with whom you’ll stay.

Day 7:
This morning, you’ll share in the daily tasks of your family hosts, helping them to plant, nurture or pick crops. In the afternoon, you’ll see around your new locality on the back of a motorbike, visiting the dragon adorned Linh Phuoc Pagoda, Emperor Bao Dai’s Summer Palace, and the otherworldly fantasy architecture of the ‘Crazy House’.

Day 8:
This morning, you’ll hike through the farmlands of the local ethnic minority villagers, and after lunching upon the local produce, a wander through the hills and forest will bring you to Tuyen Lam Lake, where you can enjoy the peace and have a swim.

Day 9:
Your time will be free until your flight back to Ho Chi Minh City and your city centre hotel.

Day 10:
You’ll be free in the City until your driver picks you up for the airport and connection with your onward or departure flight.
