F1 Series: Cacophony and Tranquillity 14 days

TOUR PROGRAMME

Day 1:
Arriving at Hanoi's Noi Bai Airport, you’ll be met and driven to your hotel, with time to settle in before enjoying a performance of Vietnam’s traditional Water Puppets.

 

Day 2:
Today, you’ll have the thrill of exploring Vietnam’s capital on the back of a motorbike, visiting some of its most iconic sights, including the Temple of Literature and the Old Quarter.

 

Day 3:
(Saturday, 4th April) Today, your driver will pick you up to attend the day’s F1 qualifying rounds at the race site of My Dinh.

Day 4:
(Sunday, 5th April) Today is race day! Enjoy the historic spectacle Vietnam’s inaugural inclusion into the Formula One calendar and another welcome new addition to F1’s collection of ‘Street Racing’ events so personified by Monaco.

Day 5:
Today you’ll travel to the coast at Haiphong to board the ‘Bhaya’ cruise of Ha Long Bay, to explore the wonderful natural features of this iconic seascape.

 

Day 6:
You’ll wake up aboard your cruise ship, with an opportunity to partake in some onboard Tai Chi as you journey slowly back to the mainland through Ha Long Bay, with a visit to Cua Van floating Village, to enjoy some kayaking, swimming and mingling with the local fishing community. On arrival at Haiphong, you’ll be driven to the airport for your flight to Hue.

 

Day 7:
In the morning, you’ll take a boat along the Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda and one of Hue’s iconic Garden Houses. In the afternoon, you’ll explore the Imperial Citadel of Vietnam’s last Emperors.

 

Day 8:
Today you’ll have a 35km cycle ride through Hue’s surrounding countryside, visiting the Royal tombs of Ming Mang and Khai Dinh, followed by the Tiger Arena which, in a mercifully bygone era, was used for dramatic animal fights as Royal entertainment. In the evening, you’ll have a dinner in the delightful setting of a Garden House.

 

Day 9:
You’ll have a free morning before taking a flight to Ho Chi Minh City, where you’ll be met and driven to your hotel.

 

Day 10:
In the morning, you’ll board a speedboat to discover life along the Mekong shoreline on the way to the Cu Chi Tunnels, a underground warren of wartime activity utilised by the Viet Cong. In the afternoon, a visit to the History Museum will cast a light on the 5th century Oc Eo civilisation. You’ll also visit the War Museum and the Jade Emperor Temple.

 

Day 11:
Today, you’ll travel through the countryside to the north of the city, to the nature reserve at Nam Cat Tien National Park, where you’ll check in at Forest Floor Lodge.

 

Day 12:
Today, you’ll experience the wildlife of Nam Cat Tien, beginning with a sunrise visit to see the park’s wild Gibbons and followed by a trip to Crocodile Lake, one of Vietnam’s premier birding sites.

 

Day 13:

In the morning, you’ll leave the quietude of the National Park for the journey back to Ho Chi Minh City.

 

Day 14:
Your day will be free until it’s time for your driver to transfer you to the airport in good time for your onward of departure flight.
