F1 Series: Vietnam Discovery and Formula One 15 days

TOUR PROGRAMME

Day 1:
Arriving at Noi Bai Airport, you’ll be met and driven to your hotel, with time to settle in before enjoying a performance of Vietnam’s traditional Water Puppets.

 

Day 2:
Today, you’ll explore Vietnam’s capital, visiting some of its most iconic sights, including the Temple of Literature, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and the Old Quarter, together with a visit to the Ethnology Museum to learn about Vietnam’s minority cultures.

 

Day 3:
In the morning, you’ll be driven to Tho Ha in the Red River Delta, to discover the charms of Vietnam’s rural life. Later, you’ll also visit Tam Tao Village for a live performance of traditional Quan Ho music and Dong Hai Village, famed for in mother of pearl inlaid furniture. After some relaxation back at your hotel, you’ll then catch the overnight sleeper train to Lao Cai for your visit to Sapa.

 

Day 4:
In the morning, you’ll be met and driven up into the mountains to Sapa, a famed highland town beneath Mount Fansipan, Indochina’s highest peak. After check in to your hotel and breakfast you’ll travel through the countryside to visit the villages of the H’mong and Red Dao minority communities.

 

Day 5:
Today, you’ll visit an authentic ethnic market to experience the wonderful throng of the region’s diverse highland communities, before having lunch at a local restaurant and enjoying the scenic drive back to Hanoi.

 

Day 6:
(Saturday, 4th April) Today, your driver will pick you up to attend the day’s F1 qualifying rounds at the race site of My Dinh.

 

Day 7:
(Sunday, 5th April) Today is race day! Enjoy the historic spectacle Vietnam’s inaugural inclusion into the Formula One calendar and another welcome new addition to F1’s collection of ‘Street Racing’ events so personified by Monaco.

 

Day 8:
Today you’ll travel to the coast to board the ‘Dragon Legend’ cruise, setting sail for Bai Tu Long Bay, travelling through its shapely formations, with a stop off at Vung Dang for some beach relaxation, swimming and kayaking.

 

Day 9:
You’ll wake up aboard your cruise ship, with an opportunity to partake in some onboard Tai Chi as you journey slowly back to the mainland visiting Thien Cahn Son Cave. After docking, you’ll be driven to Yen Duc Village to enjoy a water puppet performance, before travelling on to the airport for your flight to Danang, where you’ll be met and transferred to your Hoi An hotel.

 

Day 10:
Today, you’ll have a cycle ride through the beautiful countryside around Hoi An. During your ride you’ll stop of to board a Thung Chai basket boat and try your hand at fishing with the local community. Upon your return to Hoi An, you’ll be free to wander this remarkable town in your own style.

 

Day 11:
In the morning, you’ll be driven to Cua Dai beach, to board a boat to the Cham Islands to enjoy some snorkelling and lazing on the beach, returning to Hoi An in time by late afternoon.


Day 12:
After breakfast, you’ll have some free time in Hoi An, before your transfer to Danang Airport, for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City, and check in to your hotel. In the evening, you’ll have a Vespa ride of the city, to enjoy the nightlife of former Saigon.

 

Day 13:
In the morning, you’ll board a speedboat to travel along the Mekong shoreline to visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, and underground network used by the Viet Cong during the war. After lunch, you’ll return to the city, with the rest of the day to enjoy as you please.

 

Day 14:
Today, you’ll be driven south to Ben Tre in the Mekong Delta, to enjoy a ‘Xe Loi’ motor tricycle ride through the countryside, before boarding the ‘Mango Sampan’ cruise boat, plying the waterways, and visiting traditional local industries. During the trip, you’ll also have a 4km cycle ride and be rowed among the myriad of narrow channels. Later you’ll return to Ho Chi Minh City.

 

Day 15:
Your day will be free until it’s time for your driver to transfer you to the airport in good time for your onward of departure flight.
