TOUR PROGRAMME

Day 1:
Upon arrival at Bangkok airport, you will be welcomed by your guide to Thailand‘s lively capital on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, and driven to your hotel for a well-deserved rest at VIE Hotel.

 

Day 2:
Today travel by car to Ayutthaya where you will visit Bang Pa In Summer Palace of King Rama IV, featuring a charming amalgam of Thai, Chinese and Gothic architecture. Then visit the ruins of the once-glorious ancient capital, Ayutthaya. Return to Bangkok in style on the Grand Pearl Cruise, enjoying an international buffet lunch on board. You will spend the night in Bangkok.

 

Day 3:
Today is your free day to spend at leisure in Bangkok.

 

Day 4:
This morning relax until your car arrives to take you to the airport for your flight to Chiang Mai, where you’ll be met and transferred to your Chiang Mai accommodation at Imperial Mae Ping Hotel.

 

Day 5:
This morning explore the local market and enjoy a relaxed "Samlor" (Tricycle) tour to Wat Phra Singha, Wat Prasat, Wat Suan Dok and Wat Chedi Luang. After lunch, visit Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, Chiang Mai's most important and prominent landmark, overlooking the city from a forested mountain at 3,520 feet altitude. Temple access is by a steep 290-step staircase (Hint: a funicular railcar is also an option). The temple contains holy Buddha relics and attracts pilgrims from all over the world. Spend the night in Chiang Mai.

 

Day 6:
After breakfast, you will be driven up to the Golden Triangle where the borders of Thailand, Burma and Laos converge. You will visit the Hall of Opium, a very interesting exhibition about the legends and history of the opium trade. Return via Chiang Saen, on the steep banks of the Mekong River forming the border with Laos, and explore magnificent ruins and ancient temples. By late afternoon, you will return to Chiang Mai for your overnight stay.

 

Day 7:
This morning you will have free time in Chiang Mai. In the afternoon head to Patara Elephant Farm for an elephant mahout training session. Your experience will include learning about how to approach an elephant and observe its temperament, feeding and bathing an elephant, instruction on mounting technique and basic riding skills for bare-back riding, and a walk to visit a waterfall. You’ll learn about the role of elephants in Buddhism and Thai beliefs, and have the chance to bid farewell and make some photographs with your afternoon elephant companion before returning to Chiang Mai for the night.
 

Day 8:
Take an early breakfast today before transfer to the airport for your flight to Krabi. Upon arrival, you will be picked up and brought to your hotel. After check in, your time will be your own! Spend the night in Krabi at The Elements Hotel.

 

Day 9:
Today join a kayaking tour along the spectacular coast through marine rock gardens. Approach the island by sea to truly appreciate the towering limestone formations and crystal clear waters, inspiring deserted island dreams. Take in the spectacular underwater world with some time spent snorkelling. Lunch will be included in the tour, and you’ll spend the night back in Krabi.

 

Day 10:
Today you are free to stroll the town, laze on the beach, or do whatever takes your fancy. Spend the night in Krabi.

 

Day 11:
This morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Denpasar, transiting through Kuala Lumpur. Upon arrival at Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, your guide will welcome you and bring you to your hotel in Candidasa area. A beautiful island known for its unique spiritual culture, Bali is home to many practices which originated thousands of years ago and still survive today. Although relatively small, Bali boasts considerable environmental variation, with numerous active volcanoes fringed by tropical rainforest giving way to rice fields and coastal mangrove forests. You will spend the night at Rama Candi Dasa.

 

Day 12:
You will be free today to relax and enjoy some quiet time, or make use of your hotel’s facilities in Candidasa.

 

Day 13:
After breakfast set out on a tour of Eastern Bali where you will view mountain ranges, tropical forests and terraced rice fields. Visit Taman Tirtagangga and Taman Ujung, a vast complex of pools and pavilions known as "The Water Palace". Continue to Pura Besakih, Bali’s Mother Temple located on the slopes of Mount Agung, Bali’s highest and most revered volcano. Continue to Ubud town, which has long been a haven for the arts, focusing on the remarkable Balinese culture in its many forms. Spend the night at Plataran Ubud.

 

Day 14:
Today’s tour begins by visiting Sacred Monkey Forest, representing a sacred Balinese Hindu site. Next, visit Pura Tirta Empul, the site of holy springs believed to have magical powers where many Balinese come to bathe for healing and spiritual purposes. Follow winding roads up to Kintamani, a spectacular area recognized as a UNESCO Global Geopark. Here the ‘small’ volcano Mount Batur sits adjacent to the crescent-shaped Lake Batur within a caldera wall, all of which are surrounded by another larger crater rim. Later, visit Gunung Kawi, an ancient monument with shrines excavated directly from a rock face, believed to have been memorials to members of the Balinese royal family. Finally, stop by Tegallalang Village to view rice terraces before reaching your southern Bali hotel, Discovery Kartika Plaza.

 

Day 15:
Today, you'll have free time to enjoy Bali in your own style.

 

Day 16:
Another free day in Bali.

 

Day 17:
Today you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Bangkok. On arrival at Bangkok, you will transfer by shuttle bus to your overnight accommodation at Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel.

 

Day 18:
Today you are free until time for your shuttle bus transfer to the airport to board your departing flight.
