WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT MYANMAR?
The wet season in Myanmar falls between May and September, during which time
heavy rainfall is frequently encountered, and sometimes makes whole areas of
the country impassable.
The peak season for pleasant dry weather in Myanmar as a whole is between November and
February. The temperature is at its ‘coolest’ from October to November, making
it a good alternative to the busy time, whilst from March to April the
temperatures reach their highest, with 40⁰C
not uncommon.
The rainy season in the Mandalay / Bagan region is noticeably less pronounced than that prevailing in Yangon and the delta, which slightly extends the visiting potential into May, though temperatures are typically very hot at this time.
In the Mergui Archipelago, the peak season is less dry than in central and northern Myanmar, and runs from December to April and is accompanied by warm seas, comfortable for swimming and diving.
